Gale's Equine Facility
History

Gale Wolfe signed the lease with the owners of the beautiful stable known as "Hunter Run" in the fall of 1988, and officially began the operation known as "Gale’s" in January of 1989.  Gale was, at that time, still competing at the Amateur level on the Palomino Circuit, and therefore she decided not to teach riding lessons which would make her ineligible for the Amateur classification.  So, at first, the facility offered only boarding of horses, but in the years to come, the interest in riding lessons from others than those owning horses at the barn, prompted Gale to consider a lesson program at the barn. At the time, Mr. Marc Roe was riding with Gale and he  began a lesson program at the Gale’s.  The lesson program became successful enough that Gale approached the owners of the facility to finalize a purchase. The closing date was set, when on a fateful day in March of 1994,The Collapse an unusual snow fall caused the collapse of the beautiful wooden arched indoor arena portion of the complex, putting a hold on the purchase. However, matters were worked out, and Gale concluded the purchase of the facility, and by hiring J. B. Stevens, Inc., constructed a new indoor arena, made of steel columns and beams. Gale, having completed her Amateur Championship on the Palomino Circuit with her horse Neet Gold Package, turned in her Amateur card, and took over the lesson program.

In March of 1999, Gale earned her first certification with the The American Riding Instructors Certification Program. (You can read more about the ARIA at their website).

Gale is now permanently certified at Level III the Hunt Seat and Recreational Riding disciplines with ARIA which certifies her as an instructor of Beginner through Advanced riders in these disciplines.

In 2012, she obtained her ARIA Level III Dressage Instructor certification, which certifies her for instruction through Third Level Dressage.  In addition to these certifications, Gale has Level I certification in Carriage Driving and Eventing...meaning that she is certified to teach beginners in these disciplines.  In 2007, Gale was named as one of ARIA's TOP 50 INSTRUCTORS.  This was a great honor to achieve this distinction.  Giving the award out every other year, the ARIA once again named Gale as one of the TOP 50 INSTRUCTORS for 2009.

Certification is very important to me, and it should also be for every person who is searching for an instructor.  Please review my essay on ARIA Certification by clicking this link;  "Why I Got Certified by ARIA".
